Biography
''....again showing their unnerving ability to write deliciously macarbre and compelling dreamy synth pop hits'' NME.. The Ghosts’ formed when Alex Starling (Ou Est Le Swimming Pool) met New York trained jazz drummer Ian Palmer, and Canadian Keys/Violin player Rayna Ferner (Alan Pownall). The band are completed by Dan Whiffin and Alex Sharman. This summer the band have played festivals across the UK and Europe and shared stages with the likes of The Vaccines. The band will embark on the first nationwide tour at the end of October. More dates will follow throughout the autumn. The Ghosts’ album track ‘Forgetting What We Know’ has also just been confirmed to feature on Sky Sports Monday Night Football for the 2012-13 premiership football season. The three were introduced by Jon Brookes of The Charlatans and are completed by Dan Whiffin and Alex Sharman. They recorded their debut album The End in two weeks in March with producer Tim Bran (La Roux/Paul McCartney) They have been tipped as ones to watch by Napster, The Guardian, Mixmag and many others. This summer the band have played festivals across the UK and Europe and shared stages with the likes of The Vaccines. The band will embark on the first nationwide tour at the end of October. They are currently living and writing in a former music school where Elgar once taught.
