THIRD ROOT is a hip-hop trio that consists of Charles Peters (Easy Lee of MoJoe), Marco Cervantes (MexicanStepGrandfather) and the world renowned DJ Chicken George. Peters is an accomplished poet and author, and Cervantes is a producer, MC, Ph.D., and teaches courses which incorporate Hip Hop at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Both artists are integral parts of the San Antonio music scene in their own right, but joined forces to craft a socially and culturally conscious LP titled "Stand For Something" in 2012. Third Root and DJ Chicken George followed up their debut album with the "Mind Elevation Mixtape" in January of 2013. Third Root is currently preparing to release "Revolutionary Theme Music" --- a new EP produced by San Antonio producer/MC/singer Greg G. The EP will feature polished Hip Hop beats and aggressive lyricism focused on the importance of education and social accountability.
