Free - Donations from the day will go towards Keep It Goin’, an initiative to continue Levon Helm’s legacy and create a musical landmark at his barn in Woodstock.
Helm, The Band’s founding member and driving force, died on April 19, 2012. The Grammy Awards recently paid a tribute to Levon Helm and now SXSW will recognise his music at the Auditorium Shores in Austin on the Saturday night of SXSW.
The event will be headlined by The Midnight Ramble Band featuring Levon’s daughter Amy Helm.
